IMPORTANT NOTICE: Watermain Commissioning During Stage 4 Water Restrictions

Given the Stage 4 Water Restrictions which are currently in effect; the City of Calgary’s Subdivision Developments have been working with their internal partners to determine how to support industry to move forward with water commissioning (Pressure Testing, Chlorinating, Flush and Sampling) and water servicing for ongoing projects.

Subdivision Developments is asking all consultants to submit a proposal for each specific site for review and acceptance. The following criteria is to be included within your proposal:

• A coversheet plan showing the unique area and scope of work.
• Locations of apparatuses such as check valves to create isolation from existing City of Calgary water sources. Subdivision Developments will also require fill points for potable water and discharge and sampling points.
• Identify the source of potable water that would be utilized – this source cannot be from the larger City of Calgary system and will require documentation which identifies the source of the potable water and verifies Provincial compliance.
• Provide post chlorination and flushing protocol – for example truck out water after use or dust control/various other non-potable water disbursements.

Subdivision Inspections is endeavoring to support industry partners by reviewing your proposal within 24 hours.
