Reminder to Submit Your Designs for the Infill Fast Track Program 1.0 by April 15

The City of Calgary is now accepting design submissions for the Infill Fast Track Program (IFTP) 1.0! If you have a design with approved Development Permits (DP) and Building Permits (BP) for one of the three select housing typologies, this is your chance to have your designs included in our pre-reviewed design catalogue.

The three select housing typologies are:

• Two-unit semi-detached (with two secondary suites)
• Four-unit townhouse (with a minimum of two secondary suites)
• Four-unit corner rowhouse (with a minimum of two secondary suites)

With Calgary projected to welcome approximately 110,000 new residents between 2023 and 2028, the City is taking proactive steps to accommodate this growth by creating streamlined processes aimed at increasing diverse housing supply and accelerating housing development.

This is a pilot program designed to expedite the review and approval process for DP, BP, and DSSP for these three missing middle housing typologies. At the completion of this pilot initiative, we aim to have a Design Catalogue for selected pre-reviewed high-quality infill designs, which will help accelerate approval timelines for these selected designs. Public interest to appeal development permit applications is preserved.

After determining the success of this program, we hope to explore ways to include more typologies in the future.
