The City of Calgary’s City Building Program team has released the draft Zoning Bylaw – for Discussion. This phase focuses on reviewing the draft, gathering feedback, discussing challenges, and refining the bylaw to ensure it works for developers and builders. Detailed summary sheets and an annotated version is now available on The City of Calgary website here.
Join us for an initial Overview Session, with the City of Calgary, on October 2nd, 2024, which will introduce the draft Zoning Bylaw, its organization, structure, and logic. This session is designed to provide a high-level understanding and set the stage for more detailed workshops.

BILD has partnered with the City to organize efficient working sessions designed to minimize disruption to your schedules. These sessions will focus on whether the proposed districts accommodate the building forms, densities, and uses that you require, and will be divided into manageable sections based on zoning types (e.g., Housing, Commercial, Industrial, Open Space etc.) to ensure that discussions are focused on areas relevant to your expertise. We anticipate these sessions will be held in late October/early November and will continue through 2025.
