Subject:For Your Information: City of Calgary Permit System Update

Further to recent communications regarding disruptions impacting The City of Calgary’s Vista/ePermit system, we wanted to share the latest update provided by Administration related to Residential Improvement Projects (RIPs) and Single Construction Permit (SCP) applications.

The City has advised that progress has been made in stabilizing the system, and they continue to implement fixes. Early indications suggest the system is stable for external access, and users are once again able to submit permit applications and check the status of existing permits.

While functionality has improved, The City expects the system may continue to run slower than usual as demand remains high. They are asking customers for patience while performance continues to normalize.

City staff are also actively working through the backlog of applications that accumulated during the outage and are committed to delivering results for customers as quickly as possible.

Members encountering a significant issue beyond system delays are asked to report it by calling 311 over the weekend, or during business hours, contacting the Planning Services Inquiries Center.

The City has also noted that teams are continuing to actively monitor the situation, and any system updates or disruptions will be provided at calgary.ca/SystemUpdates.

We appreciate members’ patience as Administration continues working to restore normal system performance and address the accumulated backlog.
