
It is hard to believe it is already May. Of course, we all continue to navigate through the numerous challenges of the COVID-19 public health crisis. As you are undoubtedly aware, the provincial government recently announced a phased approach plan to lifting some of the restrictions put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and gradually start to open up services and businesses that have been closed. While this is hopeful news, it is imperative that we continue to vigilant in our approach to safety – both at work, and at home, in order to continue moving in a positive direction. This will not only help keep our loved ones, colleagues and neighbours safe, but help us all work towards building a new and sustainable economy.
City of Calgary news:
Calgary City Council recently approved further supports for businesses in Calgary as they navigate the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of this support, Planning & Development is deferring and/or waiving fee payments in 2020, enhancing flexibility on building permits. Learn more here.
BILD Events
Although it’s likely not a surprise, we regret to announce ( both the BILD Fairmont Golf Classic and Industry Charity Golf Tournaments are cancelled this year due to the the current crisis. We look forward to resuming these events in 2021.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held virtually on June 17. Board of Director appointments will be announced at the AGM. Registration details will be announced next week along with information surrounding board of director nominations and the upcoming online voting period process. Plans are currently underway to re-imagine the BILD Awards gala as well – details on that will be announced very soon – stay tuned for details!
