BILDCR Bulletin 2024 – 4

From: Jackie Stewart, Director, Technical and Economic Initiatives and Government Relations
Date:January 16, 2024
Subject:Changes to ENMAX URD Project Leader Role

ENMAX has informed BILD that the Underground Residential Distribution (URD ) Project Leader position is being removed effective January 2, 2024. To ensure the same level of service will be provided by ENMAX, the responsibilities formerly completed by the URD Project Leader will be divided amongst the ENMAX URD Project Managers and Civil Works Inspectors.

The new primary point of contact for specific aspects of your project are:

ENMAX URD Project Manager:

  • force accounts – review and facilitation of approvals with Shallow Utilities Consortium and developers
  • documentation of site fencing/security requirements at pre-construction meeting
  • initial material orders

Civil Works Inspectors:

  • support construction work onsite
  • attend damage walk-throughs
  • subsequent material orders through construction

This transition is in progress for any projects with beginning onsite work on or after January 2, 2024. Moving forward, project teams for any new projects will be structured as above, without a URD Project Leader. A transition period of 1-2 months is anticipated as projects underway move through completion. Full transition will be completed by March 29, 2024.

Should you have any questions regarding this change, please contact Jesse Retzlaff, ENMAX Manager, URD and Customer Choice, at jretzlaff@enmax.com.
