Calgary, January 7, 2019 – After five and a half years in the role of Chief Executive Officer, first with UDI – Calgary and then BILD Calgary Region, Guy Huntingford will be stepping down. Given this was an expected development, the BILD CR Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Hahn as the new CEO effective January 7, 2019.
To begin, the BILD CR Association wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Guy for his leadership first as CEO of UDI – Calgary and then at BILD CR after an amalgamation with Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Calgary. Guy’s leadership was a pillar of strength during a period of economic strife in our industry and his vision laid the foundation for numerous achievements with one of the most notable being BILD’s advocacy work in the approval of 14 new communities this past summer.
Given Guy’s success, the board undertook a stringent search process and are pleased to welcome Brian Hahn into the role. Brian’s career experience includes over 32 years of service to the ATCO Group of Companies including the roles of Vice President, Calgary Operations, ATCO Gas (2000-2004); Vice President, Business Development, ATCO Pipelines (2005-2008); President, ATCO Gas, Edmonton (2008-2011); President, ATCO Gas Australia (2011-2013); and President, ATCO Pipelines (2013-2015). During his tenure, Brian was an integral part of ATCO’s successful entry into the deregulated electricity and natural gas markets. Most recently, Brian served as the General Manager of the Calgary Bid Exploration Committee and was responsible for the overall leadership, direction and management of the project.
Brian is also a steward of our community, as he is an active volunteer with the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre and currently sits on their Business and Advocacy Committees. On behalf of the Board, I’d like to formally welcome Brian to BILD Calgary Region and we are excited for his leadership into 2019 and beyond.
