We hope you, your family and your fellow employees continue to be safe and healthy. We are truly experiencing previously unthinkable times and business conditions. As you know, the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve at a rapid pace and while there are massive amounts of information out there, it can be difficult to process and find the information most relevant to you and your business.
As such, we want to provide you with consolidated updates on the following items:
BILD Calgary participated in a virtual roundtable on March 18 with Premier Jason Kenney along with representation from a number of key industries in Alberta. We were able to voice our concerns about some of the most immediate impacts to our Industry at this point in the COVID-19 crisis and had the opportunity to propose some measures that may mitigate some of the significant economic and operational challenges we are all seeing. We will continue to work closely with the province, as well as our regional municipalities to ensure that our industry’s voice is heard and will provide updates as soon as possible.
Updates on status of operations for Calgary Region municipalities
We have compiled a listing of information on the status of various departments and services for each of the Calgary Regions Municipalities. This listing can be found here and is effective as of March 18, 2020. We will endeavour to update the listing as often as needed to ensure it is update. Please check the link as needed.
Committees/Board of Directors
All committee meetings between now and mid-April have been postponed OR rescheduled via GoToMeeting. If you have questions, please contact your BILD committee representative. We greatly value our volunteers and given the unique circumstances, we appreciate that some of our volunteers may not be unable to participate. If that is the case, please contact your committee chair to discuss.
Executive Board and Board of Directors meetings will continue to he held online using GoTo Meeting once a month. There will be ad-hoc meetings scheduled with these representatives should the need arise. We appreciate our Board’s flexibility and support thus far in navigating these uncertain times.
As you are aware, the BILD Gala is being postponed until later this year. We are currently looking at September dates, being mindful that there is still much uncertainty in how this crisis will evolve. At this time, we are looking to reschedule the Finalist announcement to June. As soon as we are able, we will share updated timelines. At this time we will be shifting existing sponsorship and ticket purchases to the new date. we will not be processing any refund or changes to orders until after the new date is confirmed.
We are currently evaluating our options for the BILD Fairmont Gold Classic tournament, currently scheduled for June 5 and 6. We expect a decision will be made on that event no later than April 30.
BILD staff continue to work remotely. Our physical offices will be closed. The best method to reach our employees is via email. We would like to extend our thanks to all our employees for their hard work and positive attitudes during this transition.
